Michael A. Smith, MD, is the Chief of Thoracic Surgery and the Surgical Director of Lung Transplantation at Norton Thoracic Institute ranked #1 in the nation, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He specializes in thoracic oncology, lung transplantation, and esophageal surgery. Dr. Smith was the lead of Kyle’s medical team and was with him from the point of diagnosis until the end. His journey with Kyle highlighted the need for the K-Care application.
Dr. Jasmine Huang
Jasmine Huang, MD, is Director of Education and Program Development at Norton Thoracic Institute, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Co-Director of the Norton Thoracic Institute Lung Cancer Program. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Huang specializes in general thoracic surgery, including lung transplantation, the surgical treatment of benign and malignant lung and esophageal diseases, and the surgical management of chest wall tumors.
Dr. Ross Bremner
Ross M. Bremner, MD, PhD, is the Executive Director of Norton Thoracic Institute and the Department Chair of the Center for Thoracic Disease and Transplantation at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He is board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery. Dr. Bremner specializes in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and lung transplantation. He directs a laboratory that conducts research into thoracic cancer and transplant immunology.
Dr. Duane Wooten
Dr. Wooten is a recognized leader in pediatric medicine. A graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Arizona School of Medicine, Dr. Wooten is a published columnist, a medical spokesperson for NBC12 News, Mead Johnson’s ENFAMIL and has received two NAACP Image Awards for Medicine. A native of Phoenix, Dr. Wooten graduated from Northwestern University in 3 years. He majored in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Bio-medical engineering.
